After meeting earlier this season in the NBA In-Season Tournament group stage, the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves will play on Wednesday night.

This is an intriguing matchup to see Victor Wembanyama face one of the best defensive players in the NBA in Rudy Gobert, but should you bet on the 2023 No. 1 overall pick in the prop market?

I have picks for Keldon Johnson, Wemby and Anthony Edwards in what should be a fun showcase of some of the best young players in the Western Conference.

Spurs vs. Timberwolves best NBA prop bets

  • Victor Wembanyama OVER 8.5 rebounds
  • Keldon Johnson OVER 24.5 points, rebounds and assists
  • Anthony Edwards OVER 26.5 points

Victor Wembanyama OVER 8.5 rebounds

The last time these teams met, Wembanyama finished with nine rebounds, and since then he’s pushed his season average to 9.7 boards per game.

Wemby has cleared 8.5 boards in 14 games this season, including 12 of his last 13 matchups. His only game under this number was in a blowout loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Minnesota is an elite defensive – and rebounding – team, ranking No. 1 in defensive rating and 12th in rebounding percentage. However, keeping Wembanyama off the glass is no easy task given his size and frame.

I expect him to grab nine boards- – or more – on Wednesday.

Keldon Johnson OVER 24.5 points, rebounds and assists

Johnson is averaging 16.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, which is well clear of this prop against Minnesota.

While Johnson struggled in the first meeting with the Wolves (six points, five rebounds, one assist), he’s scored at least 20 or more points in six of his last nine games.

If he can score 20 or more points it makes it a lot easier for him to clear the 24.5 PRA number tonight. While that may not happen against the No. 1 defense, Johnson is averaging 7.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game over his last eight contests.

I think this number is too low for the Spurs rising star tonight.

Anthony Edwards OVER 26.5 points

Edwards dominated the Spurs in his last meeting with them (28 points), and he should get a chance to clear that number again on Wednesday.

The Spurs are 27th in the NBA in defensive rating, and Edwards has several 30-point games this season, averaging 26.2 points per game.

He’s the easiest Timberwolves player to back as a scorer because of his consistent role in terms of shot volume.
