Best NBA prop bets today for Grizzlies vs. Spurs (Bet this defensive prop for Victor Wembanyama)
By Peter Dewey
Two of the worst teams in the Western Conference face off on Friday night in the NBA, but the San Antonio Spurs may have the edge as a home favorite against the Memphis Grizzlies.
There haven’t been a lot of times that the Spurs have been favored at home, but Memphis’ lengthy injury report – which once again includes Desmond Bane (back, doubtful) – makes this a tough game to trust the Grizz.
Personally, I don’t love laying 6.5 points with the Spurs here, so instead I’m going to look at the prop market to bet two Spurs players – and one Grizzlies player – on Friday.
And, you know we almost always have to get a Victor Wembanyama pick in there somewhere!

Let’s dive into tonight’s plays:
Grizzlies vs. Spurs best NBA prop bets
- Victor Wembanyama OVER 4.5 blocks
- Santi Aldama OVER 1.5 3-pointers made
- Tre Jones OVER 21.5 points, rebounds and assists
Victor Wembanyama OVER 4.5 blocks
This may seem like a crazy number for Wemby, but I assure you it is not.
In two meetings with the Grizzlies this season, Wembanyama had eight and four blocks, playing just 26 minutes in the game where he blocked four shots. The likely Rookie of the Year in the NBA has played at least 30 minutes in nine straight games, so as long as he avoids foul trouble, he’ll have plenty of time to change the game on defense.
Memphis ranks 29th in NBA in opponent blocked shots per game (6.4). Only the Utah Jazz are blocked more this season.
That’s a great sign for Wembanyama, who leads the NBA in blocks per game and has five or more blocks in nine of his last 14 games. Trust him to have a big defensive game tonight.
Santi Aldama OVER 1.5 3-pointers made
With so many players out for Memphis, I’m targeting forward Santi Alada to fill the void on offense.
Aldama is coming off a great shooting game (6-for-12 from 3) against the Golden State Warriors, and he’s made at least two shots from deep in seven of his last nine games.
Over that nine-game stretch, Aldama has attempted five or more shots from beyond the arc seven times, shooting 39.7 percent from 3 on 6.4 attempts per game.
I love him to hit multiple 3s tonight.
Tre Jones OVER 21.5 points, rebounds and assists
I’m going to keep trusting Tre Jones, who has cleared 21.5 points, rebounds and assists in four straight games, again on Friday.
Since the Spurs are favored, they should be in this game for the entire contest (one would think), which means Jones is going to see plenty of playing time.
Over his last four games, the young point guard is averaging 16.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game (27.8 PRA), and I think his increased shot volume could be here to stay. Jones attempted double-digit shots in two of his last four games, something he hadn’t done since Feb. 7.
If the usage is there, Jones has been too good of a passer (7.2 assists per game since joining the starting lineup) for me to fade here.
