The San Antonio Spurs are playing some better basketball as of late, winning four of their last 10 games heading into Monday’s matchup with the Washington Wizards.
The Spurs are favored in this game, and they are a perfect 3-0 against the spread when favored at home this season. The only issue? The Wizards have been great as road underdogs, going 14-9-1 against the spread.
So, with those conflicting trends, I’m looking to the prop market in a matchup between two of the worst defenses in the NBA.

Here’s why Victor Wembanyama and Tre Jones are elite prop picks for the Spurs tonight:
Wizards vs. Spurs best NBA prop bets
- Victor Wembanyama OVER 11.5 rebounds
- Kyle Kuzma OVER 23.5 points
- Tre Jones OVER 8.5 assists
Victor Wembanyama OVER 11.5 rebounds
This is a dream matchup for Victor Wembanyama against the worst rebounding team in the NBA.
The Wizards are grabbing just 44.9 percent of available boards this season, and that’s led to some huge rebounding performances against them as of late. Just take a look at some of the starting bigs against the Wizards in their last five games (not against San Antonio):
- Jalen Duren: 18 rebounds
- John Collins: 16 rebounds
- Nikola Jokic: 12 rebounds
- Isaiah Hartenstein: 17 rebounds
- Jalen Duren (again): 19 rebounds
Wemby did have just eight boards in his meeting with Washington, but he’s posted three straight games with double-digit boards as the Spurs start to move him off of a minutes limit.
I love him to control the glass tonight.
Kyle Kuzma OVER 23.5 points
Kyle Kuzma seems to have found his mojo again after a few down scoring games.
The Wizards forward has scored 30 and 26 points in his last two games, attempting 24 or more shots in both games.
That volume is huge, and he should be able to clear this prop on Monday if he sees that many looks against a San Antonio team that ranks 25th in the NBA in defensive rating.
Kuzma had an off game (11 points on 5-of-14 shooting) in his previous matchup with the Spurs. I don’t expect that again given his recent play.
Tre Jones OVER 8.5 assists
Tre Jones has four games with double-digit assists in his last seven meetings, and he’s averaging 7.4 assists per game since moving to the starting lineup for the Spurs.
The Wizards allow the most assists per game in the NBA this season (30.1), and Jones has seen his potential assists per game skyrocket as a starter.
In 12 starts, Jones is averaging 14.0 potential assists per game. He should carve up this weak Wizards defense.
