No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama will get a massive test on Monday for the San Antonio Spurs, as they take on the Philadelphia 76ers and reigning league MVP Joel Embiid.

Embiid is having an even better season in the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 35.0 points per game, but Wemby is a unique defender – and player – that could make things tough on JoJo.

The Spurs are massive underdogs in this game, but I think the prop market is the way to go in this matchup.

There are multiple ways to bet on the star bigs, as well as a Spurs guard that is criminally undervalued given his recent play.

Here are my favorite prop bet plays for Spurs-Sixers on Monday night:

Spurs vs. Sixers best NBA prop bets

  • Victor Wembanyama OVER 21.5 points
  • Tre Jones OVER 10.5 assists and rebounds
  • Joel Embiid OVER 34.5 points

Victor Wembanyama OVER 21.5 points

Wembanyama has been a huge beneficiary of Gregg Popovich moving Tre Jones back into the starting lineup, as he’s scored 24 or more points in each of his last four games.

On the season, Wemby is averaging 19.9 points per game, but this could be an interesting matchup for him. Will the Sixers use Embiid on him and risk getting their star in foul trouble?

If not, Wemby should have a major size advantage on any other Sixers player.

The Spurs rookie has taken 18 or more shots in three straight games, and the team is content with running offense through him. As long as this stays in the low 20s, Wemby is worth a shot given his usage.

Tre Jones OVER 10.5 assists and rebounds

Tre Jones is one of my favorite prop targets tonight at this number – even against a Philly team that is top 10 in the NBA in defensive rating.

Jones is averaging 4.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game since entering the starting lineup (nine games), and he’s recorded double-digit assists alone in three of his last four games.

In this nine-game stretch, Jones has cleared 10.5 rebounds and assists five times.

The key for Jones comes in his potential assists, which have jumped when Wemby is on the floor. In his last three games with the rookie playing alongside him, Jones has 12, 11 and 12 assists.

He’s recording 13.6 potential assists over his last nine games, including 16.0 in his last four contests. I love him to go over this prop since he’s rebounded well for a guard averaging 3.1 boards per game this season.

Joel Embiid OVER 34.5 points

Spurs fans may not want to hear it, but Embiid is a great bet to go OVER his point total in this game.

As I mentioned, Embiid is averaging 35.0 points per game, and he’s scored 36 or more in three of his last four games since dealing with a knee injury.

The Spurs rank 25th in the NBA in defensive rating, and they give up 52.0 points in the paint per game – good for 21st in the Association.

Embiid may have trouble with Wemby’s size, but the rookie hasn’t been playing much more than 27-28 minutes since dealing with an ankle injury in late December. Embiid has been too dominant to fade in this game.
