After missing the NBA playoffs each of the last four seasons, the San Antonio Spurs will soon look to compete for the postseason once again. With number one pick Victor Wembanyama now on the team, they will likely get a big boost in the standings next season. But even then, the Spurs will have to compete in a tough and very deep Western Conference.

That is made more complicated by the fact that they still have a relatively young team that collectively went just 20-62 last season. Figuring out who should remain from that team is likely to be a multi-season process, with the Spurs paying close attention to who fits and who doesn't fit next to Wembanyama.

That makes next season a transition year of sorts for San Antonio as they try to build the best possible roster around the new potential superstar. With several young players on the roster, let's take a look at a couple of young players that the Spurs should continue to develop and two more that they should give up on.
