2024 NBA Mock Draft 4.0: Spurs get 2 game-changers, Wizards land potential star at 1

18. New York Knicks (via Mavericks) choose Ryan Dunn
Dunn is an elite defender capable of guarding every player on the floor and making an impact. The 6’8 wing averages 7.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 2.3 blocks in 27.6 minutes per game for the University of Virginia.
The 21-year-old is a bit older, but his defense jumps off the screen. He can lock his man down and is outstanding in help situations. Dunn should make an impact immediately on the defensive end and could be an All-Defense candidate in his prime.
He would be a lottery pick if scouts could project an offensive role. Dunn made just 24.0 percent of his 50 3-point attempts in his two years at UVA. Expect the 6’8 wing to keep working on his jumper, but there is zero guarantee it becomes even 30-plus percent. Dunn also had a negative assist-to-turnover ratio and scored just 8.2 points per game in the NCAA this season.
The Knicks feel like the perfect fit for Ryan Dunn. Head coach Tom Thibodeau will love his defense and work hard to find ways to keep him on the floor. Dunn will be impactful, especially playing under someone like Thibs. It is all about finding one offensive skill that allows him to play more than a limited bench role.
