26. Denver Nuggets grab Tyler Smith

Smith has been a bucket for the G League Ignite through five games. The 6’11 big man is a lefty averaging 1.4 blocks per game. He has arguably been the Ignite’s best player in the early going, and Smith has the potential to climb if he continues to stand out.

27. Indiana Pacers (via Oklahoma City Thunder) draft Carlton Carrington

Bud is putting on a show for Pittsburgh. He is averaging 18.0 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.5 rebounds through his first four games. The 6’4 guard can handle the ball and make plays with the potential to vault up boards quickly.

28. Milwaukee Bucks take Melvin Ajinca

Ajinca is a 6’7 wing who helped France finish second at the U-19 World Cup. His numbers do not jump off the screen, but if he can consistently make shots, Ajinca could be a first-round pick because NBA teams want wings with his size.

29. Minnesota Timberwolves snag Elmarko Jackson

Jackson is starting for the Jayhawks and has shown some strong playmaking, but the scoring, defense, and playing time must improve if he wants to stick in the first round.

30. Boston Celtics select Reed Sheppard

Sheppard has been impressive for the Wildcats through five games. He has 17 steals and six blocks and is making every shot so far. The 6’3 guard has a slight frame and size questions, but at some point, Sheppard has to be considered as a first-round pick based on his production and high basketball IQ.

The 2024 NBA Draft is just under eight months away. There will be plenty of changes, but it is another important night for the San Antonio Spurs. Can they select another difference-maker to pair with Victor Wembanyama? That is the goal.
