1. Jakob Poeltl

Poeltl was traded to San Antonio in 2018 as part of the package for Kawhi Leonard. The 7’1" big man played his first two seasons in Toronto as a backup big man, but he took his game to another level with the Spurs. Poeltl became a starter and key force on both ends of the floor before being traded back to the Raptors at the 2023 deadline.

Poeltl is an unrestricted free agent this summer, and he will be looking for a significant payday. The Raptors just gave up three draft picks to land the 27-year-old, and they plan on making a significant offer to bring him back to Toronto.

Gregg Popovich made it clear that the Spurs did not want to see him go, and they could be in the running to re-sign him this summer. Zach Collins, Khem Birch, and Charles Bassey are the three big men currently on their roster. Poeltl would certainly be the team’s starting center, and he could return to being a key offensive hub and rim protector in San Antonio.

The San Antonio Spurs will have cap space this summer, but how will they use it? Can they convince free agents to join their young roster to play under Hall of Fame coach Gregg Popovich? Stay tuned to find out.
