Blake Wesley: Blistering Burst

Most pundits expected San Antonio to take things slow with Blake Wesley after selecting him with the 25th overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, and he spent most of his rookie season with the Austin Spurs as he learned the ins and outs of the point guard position. The Notre Dame alumnus was an inefficient shooter and a turnover machine, but he flashed enough skill to warrant another look.

The first thing you'll notice when you watch Wesley is how everyone seems to move at a turtle's pace when he turns on the afterburners. That effortless burst allows him to collapse defenses with dribble penetration, but he is still figuring out how to make the right read once he creates an advantage. With NBA experience and more muscle on his frame, Blake should shine at Summer League.
