In the spirit of Thanksgiving, what more could you be thankful for than Victor Wembanyama? For over two years, the Alien has given us highlight after highlight whenever he is on the floor. If you are a Spurs fan, you should be especially grateful for living in the same timeline as the 2023 number one overall draft pick.
Yet still, we Spurs fans aren't the only ones salivating over the superstar. NBA media legend Zach Lowe was sighted clamoring over the Frenchman. On the Bill Simmons podcast. Lowe ranked the Silver and Black among his top three favorite teams to watch, in large part due to Victor Wembanyama.
Lowe stated that you can't miss a Spurs game because four ridiculous things happen every game. Whether it be an insane defensive play, a monstrous dunk, or an unreal dribble move, Wemby is bound to knock your socks off in every game that he plays.
Victor Wembanyama is must-see TV
There is no denying the greatness of Victor Wembanyama. If the Spurs are on, you have no other option than to check in on the Alien. At any moment, Wemby could make a play worthy of a high ranking on the SportsCenter top 10.
Within the first 48 minutes of the Spurs' season, Vic put together a season's worth of highlights, absolutely dominating in his season debut. The deeply skilled big man put the league on notice and showed everyone why they need to keep an eye on him all year long.
In every game since then, Wembanyama has done something completely out of this world. At the end of the year, the Spurs star's highlight reel will be longer than anyone else's.
Spurs fans are desperately missing their superstar
Although the Spurs have been successful without their number one guy, we can't help but miss Victor Wembanyama. Not only have the Spurs longed for Wemby's absurd ability to defend the paint with his massive, lanky body, but most importantly, they have missed the advantages he provides.
At this point, the Spurs run through their superstar, and their team is not the same without him. There is no arguing that Wemby is the new face of the franchise and will be the next great Spurs icon. For the next 10-15 years, when you think of the Spurs, you will think of Victor Wembanyama.
Further, Wemby is cementing his case to be the next face of the league after LeBron James and Steph Curry. He brings fans to their seats like no other and provides a unique experience that every face of the league delivers. The only problem is that he has struggled to stay on the court.
Things are going to get a whole lot more exciting when Vic returns to court. Not only will he provide the Spurs with their go-to weapon and defensive stopgap, but he will also give the fans what they crave: more excitement.
