Kings legend Jason Williams has worst Wemby take of all time

He's kidding, right? Please tell me he's kidding.

Jason Williams is an old hoops legend among basketball fans who were around for his Sacramento and Memphis days. My older brother was a huge fan, and I didn't know many who didn't love to watch White Chocolate throw pinpoint misdirection passes by bouncing the ball off his elbow in transition. So, it's very disappointing to hear this laughably egregious take from him on the Spurs' French star.

On the Hoopin' N Hollerin' podcast, he was asked to rank the last six number one overall draft picks, and he started with Cade Cunningham. The worst part is that he didn't even hesitate. He then proceeded to put Anthony Edwards in front of Victor Wembanyama and said that he might pick Paolo Banchero ahead of the Alien, too.

It's probably the most horrific Wemby take we've heard lately, but here he is giving it.

NBA players keep proving they don't all know what they're talking about

Sometimes, you hear analysts who never played sports at a professional or collegiate level discuss the game, whether it's the NFL, NBA, or any other sport, for that matter, and a former player will object to it, claiming they don't have the experience to speak on these things.

However, takes like this are a constant reminder that it doesn't matter whether you never played the game or had a 12-year career, like J-Dub here (the original J-Dub, btw); you may still be out of your depth. None of these guys have a ceiling as high as Wemby's, and to suggest otherwise makes me question your knowledge.

This is legitimately the first time I've ever heard anyone make these kinds of claims. Every list you see ranking the young players of the game puts Vic at the top because it's the easiest possible decision to make for something like that. Only one of these guys had LeBron James-esque hype before his arrival, and during his rookie year, everyone agreed that he exceeded expectations.

Do you realize how hard that is to do? The kid averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and nearly 4 blocks as a rookie, and through his play and leadership has elevated this team to a number two seed in the Western Conference in his third season. There's a specific term for that kind of impact. It's called being a "force multiplier," and he's already proven himself worthy of that title.

Don't get me wrong, I think Cunningham, Edwards, and Banchero are fantastic players. But, and I know this is petty, none of them even have a cool nickname. We call them all by their first names or some variation of them.

Cade, Ant, and Paolo are cool and all, but we had Magic, Air Jordan, King James, and Chef Curry, and now we have the Alien. You can miss me with any of those other guys fitting the same billing. It's just not even close to being accurate.
