The world has taken full notice of the talent of Victor Wembanyama. The San Antonio Spurs may still be a team that is a work in progress, but the blueprint for a true title-contending team is there. As Wemby continues to grow and progress in his development, many are offering up their input as to how he can get the most out of his sky-high potential.

One of those noticing and giving their opinion is none other than the legendary Kevin Garnett. This is no surprise, given how much KG pays attention to the league, even after his retirement several years ago. Garnett also loves mentoring younger players and helping give them the blueprint for how to become the very best versions of themselves.

He recently offered up some advice to Wembanyama on his podcast, KG Certified. Garnett stated that he thinks what may be a great option for Victor in this coming offseason would be to travel to Los Angeles, and experience a bit more of the American basketball experience.

"Instead of going abroad when you come back from vacation, because you know what home looks like, right? You were born and raised there,” said Garnett. “You can always go back home. Spend a summer in LA bro, go up to UCLA because you know what’s up there? Everything you’re looking for. Go up to UCLA and play against that caliber of s—t for a whole week and see how you come out of there.”

Garnett to Wemby: Go spend a summer in LA

Honestly, this is fantastic advice for the young phenom. Wemby is obviously a generational-level talent, but he could certainly benefit from more basketball experience in the United States outside of just playing in the NBA. There is something to be said for playing in a competitive environment outside of a professional league. You're no longer playing in front of millions on television, but instead leveling up behind the scenes in one of the biggest cities in the world.

There could also be a benefit for Wemby in simply immersing himself in American culture just a bit more. You're only going to get so much of that experience while you're in season, catching late flights and in the middle of constant practices, shootarounds and games.

Additionally, there is a lot of high-level basketball played in Los Angeles besides just by the Lakers and Clippers. The Rico Hines runs at UCLA (likely what Garnett is speaking of) are some of the most well-known and big-time pickup runs in the United States, featuring all levels of players from professional and college, all the way down to the amateur seasoned gym rat who lives for pickup hoops.

As Wembanyama seeks to grow and level up, taking Garnett's advice would be far from the worst idea.
