The madness of NBA trade deadline week continues. After the San Antonio Spurs made their blockbuster deal to acquire De'Aaron Fox and ultimately get Victor Wembanyama an All-Star teammate, they continue to evaluate where they should be focusing their efforts next. In the meantime, other deals around the league have continued to go down.

On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that the Washington Wizards were trading Jonas Valanciunas to the Sacramento Kings. The full details of the trade are as follows: the Wizards will get Sidy Cissoko along with two second-round picks, and the Kings will get Valanciunas.

This means that another former Spurs player will be on the move yet again. Cissoko had just been traded to Sacramento in the deal that landed San Antonio De'Aaron Fox. Now, after a few quick days as an official member of the Kings, Cissoko will become a Wizard.

Still in just his second season as a pro, Cissoko has a lot of potential in his career. After playing with the G League Ignite, he was drafted with the 44th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. A draft classmate of Victor Wembanyama, Cissoko did not get much playing time as a rookie. He appeared in just 12 games in his first professional season with the Spurs.

Now, Sidy will presumably get more of an opportunity while competing with a team that is sure to finish at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, especially after losing both Kyle Kuzma and Jonas Valanciunas. For Spurs fans that were big supporters of Cissoko, it will certainly be worth tuning into Washington's games to see how he progresses.
