Charles Barkley just gave Spurs fans a terrifying vision of Castle and Harper

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley recently sang praises about Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle on The Bill Simmons podcast, offering spot-on insight into their astronomical upside.

"If I'm a guard in the NBA, I do not want to see them boys in the next 10 years," he states. "They're going to be the new Steph and Klay."

Barkley couldn't be more accurate. Harper and Castle were already impressive in their first postseason appearance, and they still have so much more room to improve. What they can become years from now could be reminiscent of what we saw from Curry and Thompson.

Castle and Harper are already on the right trajectory

At such adolescent stages in their careers, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper have already shown they can quickly become All-NBA-level guards. Castle has displayed some otherworldly all-around ability, giving the Spurs solid scoring, playmaking, and on-ball defense through his first two seasons.

Harper used the 2026 Playoffs as a stage to display his offensive prowess. He was one of San Antonio's most reliable bucket-getters, finding ways to get to his spots whenever he wanted to. Even OKC's elite defense couldn't slow him down in his minutes.

Godspeed to the rest of the league if this is just the beginning of what these two can do. Despite their limited experience, Harper and Castle are already a headache for opposing coaches, and the scary part is that they're only going to get better as time goes on.

The benefit of this pair making such a deep playoff run early in their careers is that they get a good idea of what they need to improve. There's no better teacher than the postseason; if Harper and Castle play their cards right, their brush with the playoffs will mold them into the league's most lethal backcourt.

The Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson comparison is legit

Barkley claimed that Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper could be the next Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and while it seems like an extreme statement, the comparison makes sense.

Now, I highly doubt Harper and Castle turn into the shooters Curry and Thompson were in their prime, but that's not the important part of this analogy. The Warriors' iconic duo was the driving factor behind the NBA's last true dynasty, leading their franchise to four championships in under ten years.

San Antonio has the chance to follow in their footsteps and become the league's next powerhouse. If this comes to fruition, Dylan and Stephon will be a huge reason for it. They may not torch defenses from long range like the Splash Brothers, but their reign of terror will come by way of their relentless attack and grit on both sides of the floor.

There's a reason why they call it the draft lottery. San Antonio struck gold with Castle and Harper, who can both become top-five-caliber guards in the near future. It comes down to their commitment to growth, but I don't think we should be concerned about that at all.
