4 Under-the-radar Spurs games with sneaky high stakes

The full NBA schedule has been released, and by now, you've probably already seen some of the highlights. The Spurs are tied for the most nationally televised games (34); they're back on Halloween this season, and the list will go on. San Antonio has rightfully claimed their place as one of the most popular teams in the league, and Adam Silver is acting like it.

There are also some underrated notes to the season that fans should know about. For one, the Spurs are tied for the most days of rest. Secondly, the Silver and Black only have 13 back-to-backs this year. After a deep run that ended in the NBA Finals, both of those things will help this team maintain their energy for another title chase.

There will be big games aplenty, and those will be the focus of most sports outlets. However, there are some underrated dates on this calendar, too, so let's go over them.

10/28 Utah Jazz will challenge the Spurs' early-season depth

The Spurs will be facing an underrated, supremely talented Utah team on the road on the second night of a back-to-back on the heels of another back-to-back. It'll be their fourth game in six days against a young, hungry squad tired of tanking and losing. This team is ready to announce themselves to the league. They'll have San Antonio circled, so the Silver and Black must be ready to put them in their place or risk allowing a potential sleeping giant to build confidence.

11/07 Trail Blazers get their first shot at revenge with reinforcements

Portland lost in five games. OKC gets slandered for losing a Game 7 on their home floor, but the Trail Blazers lost on theirs, too... in five, despite Victor Wembanyama missing Game 3. That's embarrassing, and a competitor will have enough pride to fight back harder the next time. This time they'll be doing it with Ja Morant and Damian Lillard on their side. That's a perfect setup for an explosive early November event.

12/15 Cavaliers give Wembanyama a chance to beat the only team he never has

Yes... it's true. Wemby has never beaten the Cavaliers. San Antonio is on a seven-game losing streak to Cleveland. Their last win was during the 2022-23 season. In fact, the Silver and Black are 1-10 in their last 11 meetings against that ball club. I can't explain what it is, but they're the only team in the league with a run of over 3 Ws on the Spurs. That needs to be corrected, if for anything, for the mental health of the fans.

2/28 Denver starts a critical home-stretch measuring stick

The Spurs and Nuggets play twice in a row on February 28 and then again on March 3. As San Antonio hits the home stretch of the season, they get a chance to double up against a top-tier opponent. It's almost like a playoff practice run, and it will provide valuable experience as they ramp up for the postseason. It will also be Wemby's and Nikola Jokic's first meeting of the year, and they'll both undoubtedly strive to one-up each other for MVP considerations.

The NBA schedule reveal brings plenty of gifts to basketball fans. Spurs Nation should feel grateful in particular.
