The San Antonio Spurs preseason is in the books, with them going 2-3 in exhibition games ahead of the start of the regular season. Of course, the preseason record doesn't matter much, and despite a losing record, there was a lot to be excited about. Let's take a look at the biggest winners and losers from the Spurs preseason.

Loser: Harrison Barnes

New addition Harrison Barnes played all five of the team's preseason games but didn't play particularly well. He shot 33% from three and 37.5% from the field, while other players such as Julian Champagnie shot much better.

That wasn't the best start to his Spurs career, but that probably won't affect him just yet. He will likely still start, though if he continues to be outplayed by Champagnie, then when Devin Vassell returns, Barnes might be out of the starting five.

He is a better shooter than he has shown thus far, with him being a career 37.9% 3-point shooter. With San Antonio clearly prioritizing shooting around Victor Wembanyama, having a 6'8 combo forward who can knock down threes would be helpful, but his preseason play might give Spurs fans pause.

Odds are that he will be fine and it was just a preseason slump, and Barnes will be able to turn things around and help the team in their quest to make the playoffs or at least compete for the play-in tournament. Here's hoping that he will be able to do just that for the Spurs this season.
