THE MATCHUPS

STARTING FIVE | WHO HAS THE ADVANTAGE?

George Hill | Jason Kidd

What We Say: George Hill had his coming out party in Game Fouras he torched the Mavericks scoring 29 points. J-Kidd has been playinga lot of minutes and his age is starting to show.

Advantage: Spurs

Manu Ginobili | Caron Butler

What We Say: Ginobili suffered a broken nose in game fourbut that did not stop him from throwing himself around andgetting inside against the Mavericks. A broken nose is notgoing to keep him away. Butler shot the ball 18 times onhis way to 17 points…..not very efficient.

 Advantage: Spurs

Richard Jefferson | Shawn Marion

What We Say: Richard Jefferson has been playing the waythe Spurs fans have been wanting him too. Yeah so ithappens in the playoffs but that is where we would want him tolay it all out right? He played great defense and waseverywhere on the court. Marion was the guy in the firsthalf for the Mavericks. He scored all his 14 points then.Once the game slowed, so did he.

 Advantage: Even

Tim Duncan | Dirk NOwitzki

What We Say: It was Timmeh’s birthday on Sunday. We didn’tneed his scoring, though that would of helped more than a threepoint win, he did though play defense and grabbed some big boardsas well as had a huge tip-in in the fourth quarter. Dirk scored17 and was hounded by Dyess at times and he seemed to be gettingfrustrated by it. He also threw a elbow at Blair that gave hima technical. Timmeh should come back with a strong offensive performanceand we all know Dirk will get his points as well.

Advantage: Even

Antonio McDyess | Erick Dampier

What We Say: Dyess is playing very well in this series. He isour unsung hero if you will. Dyess hit down some key jumpers andI like seeing that. It boosts his confidence as well as the Spurswhen they see him hitting them. His defense has been great. Gamefour we saw him guarding Dirk and he was making it hard for himto get a good look at a shot. Damp was no where to be found. Hisbiggest production was that he got fined $35,000 for criticizingthe officials.

Advantage: Spurs

Tony Parker | Jason Terry

What We Say: Parker and Blair were credited with the Spursbench scoring, all of them. Parker had 10 and Blair with 7. Blairwas huge for San Antonio. He grabbed seven rebounds, five of whichcame at the offensive end. His energy and effort on the courtprovided that spark for SA. Jason Terry tweaked his ankle at theend of the first half but he was the main reason the Maverickswere still in the game. He added 13 and hit some key three pointersin the fourth to pull the Mavericks close. Mavericks bench didoutscore San Antonio’s, 31 to 17.

Advantage: Mavericks

What We Say: San Antonio has already taken one game away fromthe Mavericks in Dallas and we know they can do it again. Thatone win in Dallas during game two was a blow-out by the way. Spursdefense has stepped up and they are getting key production outof their young guys and first year players with the team. Spurswill come out the winner but like the last two games it will bea close one. Sorry Dallas but this is our year!
