With the San Antonio Spurs' 2023-24 season behind us, there is plenty to look back and reflect on. Of course, the most significant aspect of this past year is the fact that it was Victor Wembanyama's rookie season, and we saw him reach some positively remarkable heights in his first NBA season.

Over the course of his rookie year, Victor racked up countless impressive numbers and individual accolades. He became the first rookie in league history to notch 1,500 points, 250 assists and 250 blocks in a season. Wemby's stat lines were straight out of a video game all season long, like his 40-point, 20-rebound performance against the Knicks on March 29.

There were so many "firsts" Victor achieved in his rookie season that it truly became hard to keep track of. The more time went on and the evidence stacked up, it became increasingly obvious that Wemby is on his way to top-tier greatness in this league. He is already doing things we have never seen before, and he is only scratching the surface of what he can do.

So, at the end of this incredible season, there was of course no other logical choice to take home the Rookie of the Year award than Victor. The award may have been in question for the first month or two of the season, but after that, it became obvious who the winner would be. In honoring him for his spectacular season, Fanatics crafted an incredible, jaw-dropping experience to congratulate Wemby.

Wemby earned a jaw-dropping congratulations for winning ROY

On Monday night, the NBA officially announced Victor as the Rookie of the Year for 2023-24. After the announcement was made, a one-of-a-kind video from Fanatics was released, depicting how they chose to honor Wembanyama for his historic season.

In the video, a representative for the company brings Victor to an exhibit called "beginnings" that appears to honor past NBA Rookie of the Year winners. But it is quickly revealed that this elaborate display is only a setup to congratulate Wemby himself.

With shrines to several iconic winners of the ROY award surrounding Victor, suddenly one speaks out at him. "Victor," says the voice of Jason Kidd as the display comes to life. "Hey, it's Jason Kidd here." To Wembanyama's amazement, each of the seperate player exhibits begin congratulating him one by one.

Videos showing pre-recorded messages from each player in the display give their respects to Wemby for his amazing season. "To watch you come in with all the hype and all the talk, and you've lived up to it," said Grant Hill. Many of the messages were addressing how Victor essentially exceeded the wild expectations placed on him this past season.

As the video comes to a close, the parting messages offered by the players were ones of encouragement. "You will, when it's all said and done, be one of the greatest big men ever," said the voice of Shaquille O'Neal.

Wemby was clearly moved and visibly emotional about the experience. "That's crazy," is all he can seem to say. This was obviously a tremendous honor for an incredible player, and something he will not soon forget as he continues his pursuit of excellence in this league.
