No one has seen anything quite like Victor Wembanyama. The French phenomenon's rookie season was beyond anything San Antonio Spurs fans could have ever anticipated, and now the future of the Spurs has the hardware to back it up.

Rookie of the Year, All-Rookie First Team, DPOY runner-up, All-Defensive First Team, and NBA blocks leader is a resume that most players would be happy to collect over a career. Wemby did it in one season.

A unanimous Rookie of the Year selection made it crystal clear that Vic is head and shoulders above the rest of his class, but where does he stand among the league at large? The latest rankings from The Ringer have him at the top of their list of players 25 and under.

Wembanyama obviously the best NBA player 25 years old or younger

It's not a bold take to say Victor Wembanyama is the best and most important player under the age of 25 in the NBA today. Ahead of Luka Doncic, ahead of Luka Doncic, ahead of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, even ahead of the star of the playoffs, Anthony Edwards.

Wemby is already writing his name in the NBA record books, and it doesn't look like he has any intention of slowing down. We're witnessing the beginning of a career that looks like it should be filled with consistent All-Defensive and All-NBA team selections and a few years of MVP & DPOY recognition.

Jaw-dropping talent, the parallels to Spurs' storied history of generational big men, his charisma, maturity, and willingness to open up to the media have already made Wembanyama one of the most marketable players in the league.

With the utmost respect to the other players on the list, they're all modern versions of something we've seen before. Elite as they are, we've watched omniscient floor generals, midrange maestros, and do-it-all wizards before. We've never seen anything like Vic before, and that gives him an edge.
