4. Alvin Robertson (1128)
Alvin Robertson was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in 1984 out of Arkansas with the seventh overall pick. He came in immediately and made an impact on defense, averaging 1.6 steals per game in his rookie season. In his sophomore year, he took a massive leap in that area, elevating that number to 3.6 an outing. His career 2.7 average is the highest in NBA history.
He was Defensive Player of the Year that season, made the All-Defensive Team six times and never averaged less than 3 steals a night in his five years with the Silver and Black. His place on this list is the most impressive because of the short amount of time he spent with the Spurs. 1128 steals in five seasons is a mind-blowing stat.
