Now that the NBA Draft is in the books and the San Antonio Spurs have officially drafted Victor Wembanyama first overall, their attention will soon turn to free agency. Even after drafting Wembanyama, the Spurs are projected to have nearly $40 million in cap space, giving them plenty of options to build around their new potential superstar.

Although that is technically enough cap space to be able to offer a player a max contract, the Spurs will likely opt for slightly less splashy signings. That could result in San Antonio targeting players that fit the team's timeline. Taking into account that Wembanyama is 19, Jeremy Sochan is 20, and Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson are 22 and 23, respectively, they would need to pursue players that are fairly close in age to their young core.

With that in mind, let's start things off with an all-star point guard who could help the Spurs get back to the playoffs sooner.
