Spurs Rumors: ESPN Analyst Hints Trade Activity is Coming
By Josh Paredes
If rumors from one ESPN analyst are to be believed, the San Antonio Spurs finally might not be quiet at the NBA trade deadline.
While there are plenty of reasons to be skeptical about an in-season trade (and I'm still in the skeptic camp), ESPN's Brian Windhorst recently hinted on a Twitter Spaces show that there has been plenty of chatter around the Silver and Black.
Joining Rob Perez's Radio Roulette, Windhorst answered Air Alamo's own Dylan Carter on the show when asked if he was hearing any buzz about the roster. Thaddeus Young has been the most widely rumored trade target from San Antonio while Jakob Poeltl has just recently been named in a rumor from Marc Stein.
Windhorst says he's been busy discussing Spurs rumors
"I've spent many hours this week talking about the Spurs," answered Windhorst. "That's all I'm going to say because I'd get in trouble." When pushed by Perez to provide more information, Windhorst remained cagey but sounded like he knew much more than he could reveal.
"There's a feeling that nobody knows what they're gonna do," he continued.
"Thaddeus Young is going to get traded, right?" asked Perez. "Yeah, probably. In all likelihood," answered Windhorst. He then brings up the rumored trade to the Phoenix Suns that has been around since the summer.
Windhorst concluded by admitting San Antonio never makes mid-season trades but still sounded like something might be different this time around. "It would be against the grain for them to make a mid-season move," he continued. "Having said that, I've spent a lot of time this week talking about the Spurs. It's the best answer I can give you."

While Brian Windhorst is known to speculate often, it's still worth noting that he's heard rumblings around the Spurs since he's an NBA insider. Whether anything comes out of the talks he's had remains to be seen though.
The NBA trade deadline will be on February 3rd at 3 p.m. ET.
