1. Brook Lopez

The Rockets and Bucks are the teams rumored to be bidding for Lopez’s services, but could the Spurs sneak in? Houston is rumored to be offering a two-year at $40 million. The Spurs have the cap space to top that offer, but do they have the desire?

Lopez finished second in the Defensive Player of the Year voting, and he fits perfectly next to Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee. He could seamlessly slide in beside Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio. The 19-year-old could be a secondary rim protector and immediately shine as a defender next to another elite defensive big man.

Lopez also stretches the floor and can score. The 35-year-old has shown zero signs of slowing down as he is coming off arguably his best season since his star days in Brooklyn. The Bucks need him back to stay in contention, but he is the top remaining free agent on the board. Expect a bidding war to go down, and only time will tell which team wins it?

The San Antonio Spurs have to spend that money on someone. They should be targeting the best available options, especially if they can get them on short-term deals. Who will they add? Stay tuned to find out.
