Ranking the young core by how important they are to the Spurs’ future

2.) Devin Vassell
Devin Vassell was in the middle of a breakout season before injuries derailed his efforts. Despite the setback, he was arguably the best player on the roster. The smooth swingman is a three-level scorer who thrives once he finds his spot, and his ridiculous length makes shooting midrange jumpers over outstetched hands look effortless.
The former lottery selection shot over 44% from the floor and 39% from three, and he has the tools to become an All-Star sidekick for Wembanyama. He is no slouch on the defensive end either, with a 6-foot-10 wingspan that disrupts actions on and off the ball. If he stays healthy and keeps improving, the rest of the league should watch out. It wouldn't be surprising if he becomes the leading scorer for the Spurs next season.
