Current NBA veteran's shocking Wembanyama revelation obliterates Chet comparison

On The Draymond Green Show, Draymond made explosive comments about the comparison between the San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama and OKC's Chet Holmgren.

Recently, San Antonio Spurs' rookie, Victor Wembanyama has begun to receive more national attention for his defensive ability. So much so that he has been included in conversations about the possibility of actually winning the Defensive Player of the Year award, even though no rookie has ever received the honor. But exceptions are made for exceptional people, and whether the NBA award voters will act accordingly is still yet to be determined.

But if you have paid attention to the desires of Wembanyama, he wants it all, and he is not shy about expressing that. This is a kid who has come to climb Mount Everest. Anything less than the peak of accomplishment seems to be less than enough for the kid from France. There is no other way a rookie would be able to put forth the performances that he has.

He has broken records and made history several times, and a player averaging over 20 points, 10 rebounds, and almost four blocks a game makes waves. Even Draymond Green has taken notice.

Draymond Green's praise of Wembanyama is not isolated

Green has been in the media for a while now. He is a successful basketball player, having won four championship rings with the Golden State Warriors, so he has more credibility as a key component of those teams. Draymond's public perception, though, is skewed due to his own actions on the court, so some of his words fall on deaf ears, as many have zero interest in anything he has to say, but he is not alone in this opinion.

If you count the players in the graphic above, Kevin O'Connor lists Wembanyama in the 15th spot. You can debate the exact placement of the Alien, but what cannot be denied is his impact on the court. The way that teams defend him is a clue into how the NBA views him. Ordinary players do not attract double and triple-teams. Victor is far from ordinary. He is in conversations as a top-20 player and has a legitimate chance at winning DPOY as a rookie.

This article took no shots at Chet Holmgren because Chet is a very good and talented player. He is just not on the same scale as Victor Wembanyama, and that is okay.
