Air Alamo Roundtable: End-of-Season Awards for the San Antonio Spurs

Sixth Man of the Year: Doug McDermott
Basically, everyone started at some point except for Doug McDermott, who came off the bench and provided consistent buckets all season. Beyond the obvious (41.7% on 4.7 3PA/G), McDermott has been a veteran leader, savvy passer, solid cutter and all-around team oriented player in silver and black. He deserves some love. - Dylan Hunter Carter
Doug McDermott was a player that I initially wanted to get traded this year, but as the season progressed, I began to appreciate what he provides to the Spurs more and more. Not only did Doug serve as a veteran presence to a young squad, but his shooting and scoring ability off of the bench helped the Spurs remain competitive in a lot of the games that they played this year. When Dougie McBuckets gets hot, he’s as dangerous as any shooter in the league. - Christian Dahms
