3 Things that could take Jeremy Sochan's game to the next level
2.) Improving Playmaking Skills
Gregg Popovich occasionally stationed Sochan at point guard, and the rookie displayed surprisingly impressive playmaking skills for someone of his size. Spurs fans are used to seeing the Hall of Fame head coach spread the touches across the roster. Even Kawhi Leonard handled primary ballhandling reps at Summer League during the early years of his career.
Sochan's career will likely look different than Leonard's, but they both showed flashes of defensive brilliance. However, the former has set himself apart from San Antonio's past lockdown defenders with promising signs of point guard instincts. From forcing switches to finding teammates, Sochan has immense potential as a passer. Tre Jones and Cameron Payne are the only true point guards on the roster, so don't be shocked if Sochan spends more time at the one this season.
