One of the most influential parts of the offseason begins May 16 with the NBA Draft Lottery. San Antonio is already guaranteed to receive their highest selection since Tim Duncan. They cannot fall lower than 7th and share 14% odds of landing the number one pick with Houston and Detroit. With the franchise-transforming talent available at the top of the draft, every Spurs fan has their fingers crossed the lottery balls fall in favor of the Silver and Black.

Victor Wembanyama has been the focus of the hype train surrounding the incoming class, and for good reason. He will most certainly go number one overall, and if the Spurs want to land the young phenom, they may need a hand from Commissioner Adam Silver. That sounds outrageous to say out loud, I know. Professional sports have always been careful about the image of cheating in any capacity. But the commish owes it to this team to insert himself on behalf of the 2-1-0.
