2. How would fans react to a Dejounte Murray return (and does it matter)?
There is never only one side to any issue. There are way too many people in the world with different ideals, morals, opinions, and feelings. This is why you can rarely get a large number of people to agree 100% on any particular issue. But Coach Pop and the Spurs front office cannot operate based on the feelings of the fans.
What is best for the young players on the roster and their development is key. That is the only thing that matters. The truth is that if Dejounte Murray comes back as a stand-up citizen and helps San Antonio win games, the detractors will likely fall in line, as winning often cures all. As a fan base used to winning, the losing has made fans desperate to return to the glory days and if DJ can assist in a 210 resurgence, it seems there are already plenty of people on board.
It seems like a no-brainer to many. The thought of watching Dejounte Murray run pick and rolls with Victor Wembanyama is hard to say no to. The players on the roster have struggled to get the ball to Wemby with consistency; Murray would have no such issue. Some fans have even already put on their GM hats in an attempt to assist Brian Wright with his job.
It's safe to say that the move would be polarizing but will certainly generate a ton of positive buzz among the Silver and Black Nation.
