The early returns from San Antonio Spurs' number-one pick, Victor Wembanyama, have been impressive, to say the least. In the preseason, thus far, his play has somehow managed to live up to the considerable hype. Never mind the several viral plays he's made; he's looked like he can be an immediate superstar, which the Spurs have been missing since Kawhi Leonard.

If that is actually the case, then it could cause the team to reevaluate their objectives for this season. Instead of simply developing their young players and looking to be more competitive, they could skip a few steps and try to make a win-now move.

While that might not be the Spurs' style, the team has been far more aggressive in making trades in the Brian Wright era than ever before. In fact, the Spurs have already made five trades since late June, and there could be at least one more before February's trade deadline.

With plenty of assets at their disposal and several large expiring contracts, San Antonio should have enough to acquire a star if they set their minds to it. Despite that, they will have to be careful to pursue the right one. Keep this in mind as we look at all the stars the Spurs could trade for this season.
