14. Sacramento Kings select Kyshawn George

*This pick is lottery-protected. If the Kings make the playoffs, it will head to the Atlanta Hawks from the Kevin Huerter trade.

The Kings have two stars in De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. They must surround them with the right pieces to contend. Sacramento needs wing help and could target a 6’8 marksman.

The Hurricanes lost their final nine games of the season as George struggled. They did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament, but it did not stop the 20-year-old from being noticed. He shot over 40 percent from 3-point range during his lone college season, despite limited minutes and production. His playmaking, rebounding, and floor spacing have teams intrigued. It is not easy to find a 6’8 wing with his versatility.

George needs time to develop. He played just 23 minutes per game in college this season. Teams want 3-and-D wings with plus ball-handling ability. George could fill that role and form a dynamic forward duo with Jalen Johnson in Atlanta.

There are questions about his defense and translating his game to a contender at the next level. Kyshawn George has work to do, but some franchise will take the chance on his upside in the middle of the first round on June 26.
