12. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Rockets) take Cody Williams
Oklahoma City is always looking for players who can dribble, pass, and shoot. They have the most talented young core in the NBA and just finished with the best regular season record in the Western Conference. The Thunder won just one playoff series, but this is only the beginning. OKC will keep adding talent and figures to a force for the foreseeable future.
Jalen Williams has the look of a future star, and the Thunder would love to add his younger brother to their mix. The wing out of Colorado is taller with a different build but similarly packed with untapped potential. Cody is a plus-shooter on minimal attempts and could be a two-way force in the right setting.
There were a ton of intriguing flashes during his lone college season, and Williams could be one of the top players in this class. Do not be surprised to see him be selected higher on draft night and blossom in the NBA with more spacing and development.
The Thunder will be one of many franchises interested in Cody Williams. The 19-year-old has a wide range, but every team needs another wing. Expect someone to take him in the lottery, and they certainly won’t regret it.
