2024 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Spurs snag 2 top-10 picks, Pistons go upside at 1

6. Utah Jazz select Stephon Castle
Castle averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in 22.0 minutes per game in two wins over inferior competition before suffering a knee injury. The 6’6 guard had a minor procedure and is expected to miss multiple weeks.
The defending national champions are 5-0 and have plenty of talent. Castle figures to see reps both on and off the ball when healthy. He must prove he can handle the ball and be a true lead ball-handler along with consistently making jumpers. Castle can vault into the top five if he becomes the Huskies' primary creator and leads them on a deep tournament run.
His defense needs work, but the 19-year-old has the size and body to be able to guard multiple positions. Can he do it in the NBA? It is certainly a question and one of the things to watch closely when Castle returns and the competition level improves.
The Utah Jazz are searching for their point guard of the present and future. Stephon Castle’s size allows him to play next to Keyonte George and the two could share the playmaking duties as Utah tries to develop both into NBA starters. The teenager has plenty to prove. Hopefully, he will make a speedy recovery and return to the floor before the calendar flips to 2024.
