2. French on French crime

One of the defining questions coming out of the Wemby hype was his ability to handle some of the best defenders in the game. While Victor had all the skills and height, many were concerned about how it would translate to the NBA against guys like Rudy Gobert, Anthony Davis, Giannis, and more. Well, we can say he handled them just fine.

In a matchup with the top-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves, Vic would record 23 points, ten rebounds, and six assists, which would lead the Spurs to an upset victory over Minnesota.

Early in the second quarter, Wemby hit his mentor and fellow Frenchman, Rudy Gobert, with a disgusting Shammgod—something that people of his size should not be able to do. But this is Victor Wembanyama we're talking about here. This kid continuously shows up and defies the odds of what he could be.
