Winner: Jeremy Sochan

Forward Jeremy Sochan showed some growth in the preseason. He shot the ball well during the four exhibition games he played, hitting 65.8% from the field. While he only attempted three 3-pointers in 95 minutes, he looked great putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket.

That suggests that his time playing point guard last season increased his comfort level playing with the ball in his hands, and that looked to be the case. He also reverted to shooting free throws with two hands, which shows an increasing comfort in his shot, but the sample size from the free throw line and from outside was small.

Considering that he shot well from the line last season, that probably won't be a problem this season, but his 3-point shooting is a big question mark. Attempting only three threes implies that he is still hesitant to launch them.

He is going to have to reach his full potential, but his ability to attack closeouts is a useful skill. That should allow him to efficiently finish at the rim or dump it off to Wembanyama or another big for an easy dunk. Overall, Sochan's preseason play was more encouraging than not.
