Winner: Keldon Johnson

After shedding weight this summer, Keldon Johnson looked much quicker during the preseason, and it resulted in him playing well. Johnson was relentless in attacking the rim, and it resulted in him averaging a strong 14.3 points while shooting 62.1% from the field in 22.7 minutes per game.

It's notable that he barely shot threes and was arguably better for it, with his shot being reliably unreliable in recent years. If Johnson can continue to attack and shoot a great percentage from two and hit wide open threes, then that would make him an asset. Especially off the bench with Johnson coming in and giving the second unit a shot in the arm.

That could make him a Sixth Man of the Year candidate, particularly if the Spurs are a playoff team. At the very least, it would prove he is better served coming off the bench and being the Spurs' sixth man.

At 25, and with two seasons left on his deal, this is a make-or-break year for Johnson. If he thrives in this role, then the Spurs could justify keeping him, and the way he played during the preseason suggests that he has figured out how to be most effective.
