It is no secret the San Antonio Spurs have struggled to shoot the three-ball in recent years. With the exception of a few names, most of their players have lacked the accuracy or confidence to fire away from beyond the arc. But that trend could come to an end this season if internal development and all the veteran additions come together to breath new life into the Silver and Black offense.

6.) Victor Wembanyama

Wembanyama isn't the first player you want chucking threes for the Spurs, but the towering teenager has a better shooting stroke from deep than most power forwards and centers. While his results have been all over the place, he never hesistates to let if fly if the defense sags off him too much.

Though the French phenom took 206 three-pointers with Metropolitans 92 last season, he only made 27.2% of those attempts. That mark was below league average, but he raised his efficiency to 30% at Summer League. While it was only two games, that's a promising sign for someone his size.

Regardless of the numbers, let's not forget this generational prospect has the skill to nail one-legged threes off the dribble in high-intensity matchups. He also turned heads by burying four triples on two seperate occasions last season.

5.) Malaki Branham

There is no doubt Malaki Branham is a work in progress, but he showcased tremendous development at the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League. He averaged 21.0 points per game and sank 48.1% of his 27 three-point attempts across both events.

Branham only connected on 30.2% of his 255 three-point attemps as a rookie, but he should improve that percentage with a full offseason under his belt. The overall spacing on the roster is better, and he has proven chemistry with numerous returning players.

With more confidence and league experience, the second-year swingman could turn into one of the go-to scorers off the bench for the Spurs. Expect Branham to see plenty of minutes with what could be a electric second unit in San Antonio.

4. Keldon Johnson

Keldon Johnson attempted 407 three-pointers last season, which was 100 more than anyone else on the roster. While he was lights out from long distance in 2021-22, the fourth-year small forward made a less-than-stellar 32.9% of his triples in his first go-round as a primary scorer.

Despite suffering a down year from beyond the arc, Spurs fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Johnson has a breakout season. He has displayed courage in the face of adversity, and he seemingly has the traits of a player that can offer the leadership to push a team to the playoffs.

With Wembanyama attracting more defensive attention, Keldon should have more wide-open threes this season. His per-game numbers will likely take a hit, but the Big Body should have one of the most efficient scoring seasons of his career.

3. Devonte' Graham

Graham only suited up in 20 games for the Spurs last season, but it took mere minutes for him to put himself on the map as one of the best shooters on the team. He made a solid 35.8% of his 148 three-point attempts, providing San Antonio the additional spacing they needed to function.

While Devonte' is undersized, he could earn a spot in the starting lineup for his combination of three-point shooting and playmaking. His defense leaves something to be desired, but spacing the floor is a surefire way from him to remain in the rotation for the Silver and Black.

The seasoned point guard will have to compete with Tre Jones, Cameron Payne, and Blake Wesley for minutes. However, he his skillset allows him to play alongside almost anyone. Whether Graham comes off the bench or starts, he has a place on San Antonio's roster.

2. Devin Vassell

Many fans believe Devin Vassell could become the next homegrown All-Star to lead San Antonio into the next era of Spurs basketball, but a knee injury derailed his breakout season. Despite missing over 40 games, he still made 103 threes at a 38.7% clip from beyond the arc.

Although Vassell is not quite the best three-point shooter on the roster, he has the foundation to take that mantle in the near future. He is a lethal catch-and-shoot threat that can hit threes in transition, on the move, and coming off screens. That sort of versatility is incredibly rare.

If Vassell can stay healthy and continue showing improvement next season, there is no question this young Spurs teams will have a much better offense. And if he makes another massive developmental leap, San Antonio could find themselves in the playoffs.

1. Doug McDermott

Doug McDermott is by far the best three-point shooter on the Spurs. McBuckets can knock down the triple off a variety of looks, and he only needs an ounce of daylight to get his shots off cleanly against a perimeter defender. No one else can replicate his versatility and efficiency.

The veteran forward has come up in trade rumors numerous times over the last couple of years, but San Antonio doesn't seem interested in parting ways with him at the moment. McDermott is a virtual lock to shoot over 40% from deep, and he poured in 123 threes last season.

Everyone knows McDermott won't be a starter in San Antonio this season, but he can still be a crucial contributor off the bench with his three-point marksmanship. Doug can get hot in a hurry, which gives Gregg Popovich an ace up his sleeve when an opponent backs him into a corner.
