#4: Also a safe pick – Scoot Henderson

When I came up with the idea for this post, I doubted that the first and second picks would be this high on my list just because of the hype that surrounds them. Born in 2004, Henderson is lighting up the NBA G-League, which has boasted real NBA talents like Charles Bassey and Alize Johnson this season. He is posting 21.2 points and an insane 47% from deep, although he does not look eager to shoot the ball. That’s okay, though, because other uber-athletic floor generals like Russell Westbrook and Ja Morant have Hall of Fame careers without a jump shot, and today’s NBA makes it easier for players to learn how to shoot.

Henderson is by no means a defensive liability, using his lateral quickness and strength to keep grown men on the perimeter. On the G-League Ignite, his main goal has been to showcase his scoring ability, but he has also dished out six assists to 2.8 turnovers, giving him a better turnover-to-assist ratio than Kyrie Irving.

While Henderson is not an elite scorer from deep, he can get to the basket or to his shot. He’s shown what he can do, and even if he never adds more skill, I think he is a legitimate All-Star in this league.
