This has been an undeniably long offseason for many San Antonio Spurs fans despite the team making several moves, but the 2021-2022 regular season is finally only about a month and a half away. While the Spurs may not be done making offseason adjustments, for the most part, this year's team appears to be set in stone.
With that in mind, it's time to start looking forward to the regular season and anticipating some of the year's toughest games. We already know that the Spurs will have to tackle a particularly tough 10-game stretch early in the season in November, but the rest of the schedule shouldn't be scoffed at either. It's evident that the team is going to have a year that will come with its fair share of difficulties.
That being said, it's become even more clear that the Spurs' young players will be coming into the year with a chip on their shoulders and will want to impress. After two seasons that resulted in the team missing the playoffs, Lonnie Walker has already gone on record saying that they'll be "acting different this season."
Even if that determination doesn't directly translate to more wins, at the very least, I'm going to be expecting some fun and competitive games throughout the course of the season. While the Spurs more than likely won't end up as one of the top teams in the Western Conference, that doesn't mean that old and new rivalries can't continue on and create some exciting games. I happen to think that the following three teams will be the Spurs' biggest rivals this season.
