Which first-year Spurs player impressed most in the preseason?

The "Grade incomplete" Tier
Given Joe Wieskamp only played 30 total minutes in the preseason and Al-Farouq Aminu only played 10, I can't really assess their perfomances in depth. As happened in the Vegas Summer League, Wieskamp couldn't quite get his 3-point shot to go, making just one of his five attempts.
Aminu's contributions were limited to five points, a board, a rebound, and a likely ticket to being the final roster cut before Monday's deadline.
The "I'll need to see more" Tier
Thaddeus Young sits on his own in this one. In his three preseason games played, he showed his defense was as advertised, but he offered next to nothing offensively. With eight assists to six turnovers, it's likely Young wasn't super invested in the preseason after 14 years in the league. It'll also take a while for him to get acclimated to the Spurs' system.
Young's playing time was fairly limited in the tune-up games, but he'll probably see an increase when the games really count. Overall, he didn't have an impressive showing, but it's way too early to be alarmed, given his resume.
