7. Torrey Craig - SF, Phoenix Suns
If you're like me, you might remember Torrey Craig best for his breakout performances against the Spurs in the 2019 NBA Playoffs. Although Derrick White undoubtedly had the better breakout series, Craig's play in Game 4 shifted momentum back to the Denver Nuggets for good after being down 2-1.
In the game, Torrey knocked down 5-of-7 shots from beyond the arc and scored 18 points while securing eight boards to help Denver win by 14. Overall, he shot 61 percent from three, making 11-of-18.
Now on his third team in three seasons, Craig is playing an important role on a team that is now in the Western Conference Finals after defeating his old team.
Craig has an all-around game that doesn't get enough recognition. He shot 37 percent from the perimeter this season and grabbed 4.8 rebounds per game as a 6-7 small forward. He also shows tremendous hustle on both ends of the floor, frequently being the guy making key plays that go unnoticed.
Although he's 30, I can see Torrey's infectious energy and basketball intelligence working quite well with the nucleus of 20-somethings in the Alamo City. He would also benefit greatly from having Coach Popovich as a mentor as he looks to continue growing his game.
Torrey Craig made $1.6 million last season but should command more as an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Spurs should absolutely make an effort to lure him to San Antonio.
