San Antonio Spurs: Is Kai Jones' dropping stock a red flag?

Recent mock drafts show Kai Jones slipping into the 20s
Kai Jones is one of those players that has been all over the place when it comes to mock drafts. His game has been polarizing even within individual outlets. The Athletic NBA Staff, for example, had him mocked to San Antonio at 12th back in June but Athletic writer John Hollinger recently had him all the way down at 32nd in his list of best prospects.
Overall, here is where Kai Jones most recently ranked in NBA mock drafts across the major players in the business:
ESPN: 14th (6/29)
Yahoo! 15th (7/7)
CBS Sports 21st (7/19)
The Ringer: 18th (Last updated 7/19)
The Athletic: 23rd (7/21)
Notice the dates of the mocks and how they affect Kai's position in projected drafts. As mentioned, even The Athletic had Kai in the lottery a month ago but have him at the lowest I've seen him since I've started researching at the beginning of the summer.
"Jones is all over the map for teams," said Sam Vecenie in his latest mock draft (subscription required) released on July 21st. He goes on to say that from what he's been hearing,
Jones could go anywhere from the late lottery to the mid-20s. That sounds about right for a guy no one can seem to agree on.
So what are the main reasons for Kai's recent drop, and does that means the San Antonio Spurs should pass on the 6-11 power forward?
