SA Spurs: Assessing the impact of key injuries in the West

Klay Thompson - Golden State Warriors
The San Antonio Spurs didn't fare well against the Golden State Warriors last season, losing by 22 and 23 in their two defeats while beating them by just five in their one win. So far this season, Stephen Curry has looked as dominant as ever, and Jordan Poole has been turning heads in his first two games, leading to a 2-0 start.
The return of Klay Thompson will only make Golden State's top-paced offense even more dynamic, and they're already doing quite well without him. If recent reports are accurate, he could be back to seeing in-game action by late November.
First week of the regular season and Klay Thompson appears close to 100%. He stayed after practice today shooting threes, and he looks good. He’s expected to return to full contact at practice in the next month. The Splash Brothers should be reunited soon! @kron4news #DubNation pic.twitter.com/FjZkFvA2CL

Players seem to love making their triumphant returns against the Spurs, so don't be surprised if Klay debuts on December 4th at home against them. After that, San Antonio will host the Warriors on February 1st before wrapping up their three-game season series in San Francisco on March 20th.
The Warriors will probably be another team out of striking distance for the Spurs, plus Thompson looks to be coming back within the next month or two. His injury might not change a lot for San Antonio.

Given their youth, it would be nice if the Spurs can stay relatively injury-free as they look to establish their new identity in 2022. Keep your fingers crossed, everyone.
