A couple of weeks ago, the San Antonio Spurs made me look smart by trading Bryn Forbes just hours after I published this, asking, "Are the Spurs on the Brink of Trading Bryn Forbes?"

As we officially hit trade deadline month, I wanted to re-visit some things I've been hearing from multiple online outlets to catch you up on the latest rumblings surrounding the team. Keep in mind, these are reports that span several different media outlets with varying reliability, so I'll share all of that information as I tackle each one. Let's get started.

Thaddeus Young

Going chronologically, the longest-standing rumor by far surrounding the Silver and Black has involved what they'll do with Thaddeus Young. We've seen reports about several contenders pursuing his services as far back as August 2021, with the Phoenix Suns being the most frequently brought-up destination.

The latest I've heard on the Young front came from Marc Stein's Spotify Green Room on January 21st. "The leaguewide expectation is that Thad is going to get moved," said Stein. Yet another piece of speculation came from The Athletic's Sam Vecenie on the same day that had an opposite sentiment.

"[I'd] be surprised if anyone ended up making a move to acquire him at the deadline due to how large his contract is," he said.

If no acceptable deal is reached by February 10th, look for the Spurs to buy Young out so he can join a contender, which would be the least favorable scenario but nothing too major in the grand scheme.

Next up, the latest on San Antonio's prized starting center, who came up in some rumors in January.
