San Antonio Spurs draft: Big Ten conference prospects

4. Zach Edey - Center, Purdue
Speaking of the center position, there is another young buck on this list by the name of Zach Edey, a clutch star out of Purdue who loves the big moment--all 7'4" of him.
Plainly, Edey is ice cold. He wants the ball in crunch time and has the requisite experience to capitalize in those moments. The former teammate of now Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey has become one of the most dangerous and effective bigs in all of college basketball, leading the entire NCAA in PER, BPM, and win shares. At his size, he's proven himself to be a dominant inside scorer and rebounder that makes a living off of second-chance points.
Edey has the Boilermakers primed for a run at the final four come March. If he is able to display his championship pedigree to the world come tournament time, it would be hard to pass on him, particularly if he's available in the late second round or as an undrafted free agent. Edey would almost surely spend time in Austin to work on his conditioning and mobility, but at his size, it would be hard to imagine him not getting a real shot in the NBA at some point down the line.
