3. Houston Rockets @ San Antonio Spurs - Jan. 12th, 8:30 pm ET

This one interests me because of how the Southwest Division is more than likely going to shake out. Only the Houston Rockets, who Vegas predicts will win 27.5 games this season, have a lower projected win total in the division than the Spurs’ 28.5. This season’s matchups will be a far cry from the rivalry these two teams have, but it’ll still offer a look at a lot of young talent.

Houston, who had the third overall pick in last month’s draft, took Jalen Green with the pick. The Rockets had a busy night in the draft, snagging players that a lot of Spurs fans (and the majority of our writers) wanted the Spurs to take in the draft, such as Alperen Sengun and Usman Garuba.

This might not be the most exciting game on the slate, but I’m excited to see how this rivalry evolves as both teams enter a retooling phase.
