3. Who is on the trade block?
Well, it’s eight games into the season and the Spurs have only won twice. Aside from the very recent loss of Poeltl, the team has been healthy from the start. The current roster is clearly not beating anyone or even being competitive in some cases, so change is needed.
Murray, Poeltl, and Vassell are the only Spurs who have had a great start so far. I trust that Derrick White, Lonnie Walker, Doug McDermott, and Keldon Johnson will find their rhythm soon enough. Primo and Landale just need some minutes. But Thaddeus Young, Drew Eubanks, and Bryn Forbes need to be moved. Maybe to another team for assets in a trade package. Maybe just cut from the team.
Young and Eubanks have played pretty uninspiring basketball this season, which is unfortunate because I was optimistic about the addition of Young and I just really like Eubanks. Forbes is a different story, as I am teetering on the edge of legitimately believing I could bring more to the table than him, which is usually an asinine statement to make about an NBA player, but he just keeps proving me right.
Unless the Spurs make drastic changes soon, Air Alamo will slowly become the “sign Kubicek to a 10-day” official website, and no one wants that. Bring in some new, talented blood, and things will look better in both the long and short term.
