2. Houston Rockets
Despite drafting Jalen Green second overall in 2021 and Jabari Smith third overall in 2022, the Houston Rockets could still be very bad next season. After all, they won just 20 games last season and only reached that win total because of an inexplicable seven-game win streak.
They also traded away Christian Wood, who was one of their best players, and may trade Eric Gordon, which would make them even younger. Actually, six of their players were selected in the first round of the last two drafts, and most of them probably aren't going to help them win next season.
That should be fine with the Rockets, who would likely jump at the chance to draft Wembanyama and add him to their core of Green and Smith. Thus, the Rockets have little motivation and even less ability to win games next season. That makes them a threat to be one of the three worst teams in the NBA.
