The U.S. Men's National Team and San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson are slated to play three preliminary games this coming week. Their first matchup tomorrow will come against a tough France team led by Rudy Gobert. The team will feature four other current NBA players in Nicolas Batum, Evan Fornier, Timothy Luwawu-Cabarrot, and Frank Ntilikina.
After starting their exhibition games with two disappointing losses to Nigeria and Australia, the U.S. Team has seemingly begun to find their footing with two quality wins against Argentina and Spain. Keldon Johnson had a particularly impressive performance in his latest game, finishing with a stat line of 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Now that the NBA Finals are over and the Milwaukee Bucks have been crowned NBA Champions, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Devin Booker will all be joining the team in Tokyo. They will all bring some much-needed playmaking and defense to the team and will all be instrumental to the team's success moving forward.
After playing France tomorrow, the team will be facing Iran and the Czech Republic before moving on to the quarterfinal stage. While it will take solid team basketball from several players for the team to make a deep run and win a medal, we recently laid out 3 goals for Johnson that will maximize his usefulness with the team.
Ultimately, we wish the Men's National Team and we expect tremendous success from them. A full schedule for all upcoming games can be found on the USA Basketball official website. All three preliminary games will be available to watch exclusively on NBC's streaming service, Peacock.
