1. Gregg Popovich

Gregg Popovich is the man who made everything work together. Simply put, the Spurs wouldn't have five titles right now without him. Coach Pop is a remarkable basketball coach and human being. When Pop took over the head coaching job in 1996, the franchise never looked back and pursued a winning culture.

Pop was able to do what most coaches weren't able to, control his players' egos. Well to be fair, most of the Spurs players that were privileged enough to play for Pop didn't have big egos. Coach Popovich has been the Spurs head coach for 26 years now, the longest tenure for any NBA coach.

In March 2022, Pop surpassed Don Nelson for the most regular season wins in NBA history. Even with that accomplishment, he never forgets to credit the city of San Antonio. It is also widely known to NBA fans that Gregg Popovich is always vocal when voicing his social and political opinions.
